LE 16EME CIEL LAUNCHES FRANCE’S 1st MEETING OF STAND-UP PROFESSIONALS
16 ARTISTS FOR 64 MINUTES OF LAUGHTER
Sensitive to the strong values of stand-up, which combine urban, contemporary humor with the conviviality of new stages, Le 16EME CIEL launched France’s first professional/amateur stand-up meetings on the evening of November 12.
At La Nouvelle Eve, it brought together five of France’s leading stand-up artists: SHIRLEY SOUAGNON – BAPTISTE LECAPLAIN – KHEIRON – PAUL SÉRÉ – D’JAL.

The search for the best stand-up enthusiasts in France has officially begun!
The concept
Le 16EME CIEL spotlights emerging talent from the new stand-up scene, and aims to give young amateur talents a chance, through a casting operation that will culminate in June 2013.
To defend its promise of French art de vivre “There’s a time for everything, especially pleasure!”, 16EME CIEL plays on French traditions: gastronomy, creativity, seduction
and humor … à la française!
With the launch of this program, Le 16EME CIEL aims to pursue its strategy of expanding its presence on new media, to reach out to its consumers … and the talents of tomorrow.
“Supporting creativity and self-improvement is an extension of our commitment to creativity and spontaneity in human relations. These values are dear to the Le 16EME Ciel brand. Revealing new artists is a great way of sharing our success,” explains Jean Hansmaennel, Vice President Communications.
An operation conceived and run by Kids Love Jetlag and Fred & Farid Media.
One operation, three highlights
Stage 1 – November 12, 2012: Launch evening
The evening, orchestrated at La Nouvelle Eve, a legendary revue theater, was the starting point for a large-scale operation aimed at bringing together as many stand-up-motivated participants as possible.
Video highlights, making-of sequences and bloopers will be posted regularly on the Le 16ème Ciel Facebook page.
Stage 2 – January 2013-April 2013: National casting of amateur candidates
A national casting, a springboard for young French comedians, is launched across France with the participation
of candidates and the public:
* Amateur participants can post their videos on the Facebook Page Le 16ème Ciel,
* They will also be selected by professionals, emerging artists from the French stand-up scene, during several live evenings in Paris, Lyon and other major cities in the South of France.
On the Le 16ème Ciel Facebook page, fans are invited to vote for their favorite candidates throughout the castings.
Stage 3 – June 2013: Amateur vs. professional Live Grand Final

Launched at the end of April, 16th Heaven was created on Facebook to open up to French-style pleasures.
One objective: to put pleasure back within reach on a daily basis!
On the program: a generator of completely offbeat excuses, but also ideas to pick and choose from to let yourself be surprised, to cultivate yourself in a sometimes unusual way… in short, to offer yourself a “pleasure break”.
Because there’s a time for everything, especially pleasure!
The Le 16ème Ciel Facebook page will be the virtual meeting point for finding previously unpublished sketches and “making-of” footage, and for voting online for amateur candidates.
