The Shiatzy Chen Fall Winter 2012/2013 collection, Weaving a Dream, brings to life the beauty of the golden age of Miao culture. A thousand-year-old people made up of ethnic minorities linked by a common language, living in the regions of South China and Southeast Asia. Shiatzy Chen captures the rich imagination and spirituality of this people, transcribing them through raw woven lines with delicate curves on colored materials. The shapes are geometric and abstract. Here and there, embroideries honoring the Miao people adorn fur, lace, organza and lamé fabrics. In homage to the Year of the Dragon, the collection features numerous dragon motifs.
