CONVERSATION WITH WALT DISNEY by Cappelini

At the last Designer’s Days, Cappelini offered us a trip to Walt Disney.

Role-playing or fun games….Cappellini draws inspiration from Walt Disney’s fairytale world, creating artwork for an animated world. A conversation between reality and the imagined world, or between imagined objects and the dream world.
The heroes of our childhood become our inanimate companions, furnishing our daily lives. A piece of scenery from our youth that we carry around with us in our lives. Let’s keep our childlike soul, our purity and our simplicity….and dream of those enchanted worlds where the Hero is always victorious.

This conversation between Cappellini design and the Disney imagination has given rise to a series of limited-edition objects. These hybrids combine the designs of some of the Cappellini collection’s masterpieces, such as the Ribbon stool, the Y’S armchair, the Fish Chair and the Rive Droite armchair, with the studio’s own distinctive features, such as the universally famous Mickey Mouse silhouette and touches of
colors from the Disney palette.

The scenography features the iconic Mickey Mouse outline on pedestals that serve to highlight pieces directly inspired by the hero, while on either side of the store are two Tron Armchairs designed by Dror Benshetrit, who drew direct inspiration from the futuristic universe of the film Tron: Legacy.

A stimulating conversation that reinforces the affective and emotional side of the object: when the imaginary becomes form, new perspectives open up for creation.
