Arnys, guarantor of Parisian dandyism
In every collection there’s a breadcrumb trail. For summer 2012, it’s American musicals; Gene Kelly, Fred Astaire, with short jackets in linen, silk or cotton, light, made like shirts; striped silk jumpsuits that can be worn next to the body under another narrow jacket, almost too small, a bit like Charlie Chaplin.
The fresh, acidic colors are reminiscent of mint, buttercups and the blue of the sky, as well as the clouds at the end of the day. Contrasts evoke the weather and light of summer.
The classic takes up the same themes in an urban spirit.
This is followed by other designs featuring oppositions and inlays, some with stencil-printed wheat motifs; wheat that can also be found on Bermuda shorts or pants. This sequence is reminiscent of The Wizard of Oz.
The Arnys staples are back: the Forestière and the Sorel jacket.
References to musicals and cinema are interwoven with a touch of humor and eccentricity, a prism that is Arnys’s and that makes its style.
The ambition of this collection is simply to be light, fresh and pretty, in a word: masculine.
