I SEE ‘EM Fall-Winter 2012 is the third women’s ready-to-wear collection Jean-Paul Lespagnard has presented in Paris.

The collection was inspired by a trip to the Scottish highlands. More specifically, the mysticism of the region, its legendary kilted warriors and the famous Loch Ness monster. The latter was a particular influence on Jean-Paul Lespagnard. Who could remain indifferent to this intriguing and mysterious lake, evocative of monsters and legends, dark but slightly translucent… All this in a misty yet luminous atmosphere worthy of a fantastic tale. This collection reflects the sensations and emotions experienced on this journey.

This can be seen in the use of tartan, whose different patterns historically represent clan membership. Jean-Paul goes even further in the Scottish tradition, having a coat of arms made in his name, which can be found on some of his creations and translates as Glory in Strength Le.

The whole show is inextricably linked with the mysterious world of monsters, which can be felt as much in the music as in certain elements that disappear and appear, whether in the cut or in the prints. The designer takes us into his intriguing world of mystery and legend, fear and wonder.

The coherence of the entire collection is striking. Strength and suppleness are reflected in the materials used, ranging from worsted wool to silk, simple cotton and other more technical, sporty materials.

Hair, scales, relief and camouflage of all kinds are an integral part of the work. The color palette refers to Scottish winter weather. Grey reminds us of the sky; green, the plains; yellow, the few rays of sunlight determined to break through the clouds.

I SEE ‘EM is a collection that reflects the character of a woman ready to face life with a special commitment. The road she travels is full of challenges, but that doesn’t stop her from moving forward with determination.
