Cannes’ Plage Magnum®, the Festival’s iconic venue, hosted a memorable evening with the presentation of the film “En Fanfare”, directed by Emmanuel Courcol. The eagerly-awaited screening brought together the talented director and his exceptional cast to celebrate a touching, universal story.

“En Fanfare” explores fraternal ties through the story of Thibaut, a renowned conductor faced with leukemia, who sets out to find a compatible donor for a bone marrow transplant. His quest leads him to discover his older brother, a trombonist in a municipal brass band threatened with disbandment in a town in crisis. Their reunion, against the backdrop of the closure of the local factory, triggers a fraternal, social and musical adventure.

The film is supported by a talented cast. Benjamin Lavernhe plays Thibaut with remarkable emotional intensity. Pierre Lottin, already famous for his roles in “Les Tuche” and “La Bataille du rail”, impresses as the older brother. Sarah Succo, who made her name in “Discount” and “Aurore”, adds a subtle dynamic to this fraternal duo. Emmanuel Courcol, on the strength of his previous successes “Cessez-le-feu” and “Un triomphe”, brings a unique sensitivity to this narrative, capturing the nuances of the human condition with unrivalled delicacy.

The screening on the Plage Magnum® was followed by a moment of conviviality and sharing between the film team and the audience, in keeping with the warm, festive spirit of the Cannes Film Festival and Magnum®. The venue, synonymous with pleasure and indulgence, perfectly complemented the evening’s ambience, marking another successful stage for “En Fanfare”.
