In Nice, the Beau Rivage hotel gives flowers to Matisse lovers
The history of the Hotel Beau Rivage in Nice is intimately linked to that of Henri Matisse who stayed there from 1917 to 1918. Henri Matisse put his brushes down at the hotel in December 1917. He stayed in room n°89 which at the time overlooked the “big blue”, an inexhaustible source of inspiration for him since he painted several canvases there, including Ma chambre au Beau Rivage and Intérieur au violon.

This major historical fact is at the origin of the partnership between the Matisse Museum of Nice and the Beau Rivage Hotel. The common objective of the two partners is to perpetuate this history by welcoming the museum’s guests and installing a decoration dedicated to the painter in the Beau Rivage hotel, including the creation of a space for children.
This is also an opportunity for the Beau Rivage to do its guests a favor by offering them a package combining a night at the hotel and a visit to the museum, with the possibility of organizing personalized tours.

And so that all generations can learn about the history of this major painter, a children’s corner has been created with the museum team, which provides children with puzzles, crayons and drawing books. A great way to discover the world of Matisse from a young age.
