JASMIN BONHEUR A COLORFUL JASMINE
Maison Guerlain has just launched its latest fragrance, Jasmin Bonheur, part of the “L’Art & La Matière” collection. Designed by Guerlain perfumers Delphine Jelk and Thierry Wasser, the fragrance is inspired by the vibrant colors of artist Henri Matisse’s palette, and is the perfect expression of French joie de vivre.
Jasmine, one of the Guerlinade’s signature materials and Guerlain’s secret olfactory seal, is the star of this fragrance. To create the ideal jasmine, Guerlain’s perfumers blended two varieties of jasmine, Grandiflorum, known for its fruity notes, and Sambac, with exceptional olfactory quality thanks to its three different origins in Grasse, Calabria and India. Among these origins, Calabrian jasmine is particularly precious, having been replanted specially for Guerlain on the same land where the House’s emblematic bergamot is harvested.
Harvesting jasmine is a delicate process, as the flower is too fragile to be distilled and is only available as an absolute. It takes all the art of the perfumer to sublimate this absolute and create the powerful yet delicate scent of fresh jasmine flower. With Jasmin Bonheur, Guerlain has succeeded in capturing the very essence of the flower and transcending it into a colorful, joyful fragrance, exuding an irresistible joie de vivre.
