Hyundai goes “phygital” by extending the electrified IONIQ 6 experience to the digital world through a collection of NFTs. Hyundai has unveiled 5,000 NFTs featuring its electrified Streamliner, and is launching the IONIQ Citizenship membership program, which aims to offer exclusive experiences and services to NFT owners.
-Hyundai Motor Company has presented the detailed roadmap for the IONIQ Citizenship program, a service package reserved for NFT holders of the IONIQ 6 collection. Recently unveiled, the NFT collection dedicated to IONIQ 6 is Hyundai’s second official series of non-fungible tokens, designed to offer new experiences and create value, particularly for Generation Y and Z customers. Building on the personalized customer experiences that drivers and passengers have come to expect from Hyundai’s new “electrified Streamliner”, the company plans to extend the IONIQ 6 electrified experience to the digital world. IONIQ Citizenship, a membership program dedicated to NFTs, intends to transpose the exclusive electrified customer experiences of the IONIQ line to the digital world, which is devoid of physical boundaries. This program includes access to digital spaces, specific digital content and physical objects associated with IONIQ 6, and some of the services offered may vary according to their rarity. More specifically, IONIQ 6 experiences will be extended through various partnerships, starting with virtual fashion item donations and VIP access on “Planet Hyundai”, Hyundai’s virtual space that has opened on the ZEPETO metaverse platform in partnership with Naver Z. NFT holders will be able to exchange their gift card for a personalized phone case from NFTYC (NFT Your Case), the world’s leading manufacturer of NFT phone cases and a subsidiary of CASETiFY, a global high-tech accessories brand. Next, the company will progressively offer an interactive virtual space designed to host the “IONIQ Digital Garage” event reserved for NFT owners. The NFT collection dedicated to IONIQ 6 reflects the personalized customer experiences offered by the vehicle’s modular interior. The company has published 5,000 IONIQ 6 NFTs under six different themes: driving pleasure, serene driving, work, socialization, care and entertainment. Each NFT IONIQ 6 is a work of art in its own right, created in a generative format that randomly combines different backgrounds, exterior colors and objects to create tens of thousands of possible combinations. The backgrounds of these NFTs reflect IONIQ 6’s eco-responsible interior space and are inspired by its new two-tone ambient lighting. Four IONIQ 6 colors exclusively dedicated to NFTs reinforce the futuristic style emblematic of the IONIQ line. Hyundai has chosen to distribute its NFT collection dedicated to IONIQ 6 free of charge rather than selling it, so that more people can take part in these unique experiences.

Starting in August, Hyundai will continue to communicate the innovative experiences of its IONIQ line through “Capsule IONIQ”, an NFT newsletter designed to strengthen ties with the community. Inspired by the capsule collections of fashion brands, Capsule IONIQ will tell stories about the IONIQ line in an experimental format.
