Arnaud Thomassin manages this 40-hectare family estate in AOC Pessac-Léognan (36 ha of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot for red wine production, and 4 ha of Sauvignon and Semillon for white wine production).

A long-aging wine, the Château’s emblem
Grape varieties: 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 44% Merlot
Terroir: very deep gravel, sometimes on a clay-limestone subsoil. Viticulture and vinification: hand-picked. 7 to 10 days of fermentation. 3 to 4 weeks of maceration in 130 hl and 85 hl vats. Temperature control. Maximum fermentation temperatures: 30-32°C max. Malolactic fermentation in vats.
Aging: 30% new oak and one-wine barrels for 12 months. Tasting notes: deep ruby with purple nuances. Intense, fine, mellow nose of red raspberry-cherry fruit, spicy black pepper-muscade-gloss, blond tobacco. Smooth, velvety and fresh on the palate, harmonious balance between power, greed, freshness and substance, fruity and licorice-like through to the long finish, elegant, ripe tannins, cocoa bean on the finish.
Food and wine pairings: wild boar terrine, beef carpaccio, shoulder of lamb, couscous royal, Brie de Meaux.
