This season, pearl necklaces are boldly dressed up. Christened Teddy-D, and adorned with stars and clovers in black or multicolored crystals, Christian Dior’s signature symbols, they are worn on shirt collars or chokers. Each bead is strung one by one, by hand, using a traditional, artisanal technique. A sublime union of delicacy and insolence, these jewels evoke the rebellious attitude of the Teddy Girls, who hijacked Edwardian style in the 1950s, as well as the figure of Princess Margaret, whose personality combined classicism and subversion.
