Renowned for his graphic, dynamic and punchy style, Pierre Hardy develops formal logics. This season, the Parisian designer renews his men’s shoes with a work on color. He does this in three different ways: with contrasting flat tones, with multicolored variations that renew classics, and with the use of printed silks to sophisticate certain city or sport models. Pierre Hardy inaugurates the new “Soft Cube” pattern on silk twill, hand-printed in Lyon in one of the company’s unique and historic workshops. This Perspective Cube, with its sixties-style rounded angles, encapsulates the very spirit of the collection. The inspiration for his Summer 2018 collection can be found in minimalist painters such as Ellsworth Kelly, or pop heroes like David Hockney, from whom he borrows his bright, colorful palette. But as much as their works, it’s the nonchalant allure of these artists, a blend of restrained classicism and whimsical freedom, that permeates the spirit of the new collection.
WALL STREET SPOT
Traditional American-style smooth calfskin derbies – with slightly turned round toes, mounted on Goodyear stitched soles – are energized by a play of colorful abstract shapes. Asymmetrical cut-outs (blue on black, black on burgundy, or burgundy on white) frame the upper and cover the quarters.

JACNO
The Jacno moccasin is available in “Soft Cube” silk twill. A fine, supple shoe for a dandy look. Twin Perfo and Wall Street are also available this season in white nubuck, smooth or grained, on a new color of brick-red micro gum sole.

TENERIFE
A nude sandal of raw, timeless elegance. The construction of these sandals is minimal: sharp-cut strips of leather are riveted to metal rings and stitched on to soles with clean edges. Available in sand suede, black leather or multicolored (gray, black, sky and red).
MEHARI
Pierre Hardy renews these summer models both technically and aesthetically. Structured by a “San Crespino” assembly – a principle of folded-over upper, sewn with a large stitch on a thin sole – these supple, unlined models evoke a seventies nonchalance. They evoke the hippie chic allure of summers spent on islands bordering the Mediterranean and Africa. Desert boots, in black leather or Havana suede, evoke the rebellious allure of actors like Pierre Clémenti. In Vichy-print leather, the model also evokes the acidic elegance of David Hockney. The slip-ons, somewhere between evening slipper and casual espadrille, play on a minimal construction of leather strips sewn onto a single thin sole. Available in black leather, three-tone (sky, grey and red), Vichy print or Havana suede. As for the babouches, they play the card of seventies folk chic.

SPOT
Pierre Hardy revives minimal sneakers – high or low – with colorful abstract shapes. These two-tone leather models are also available mismatched: one foot white and blue, the other white and yellow, for example. Several tonal combinations are possible. Pierre Hardy develops mischievous optical effects from black and white to pink and black.
SLIDER TWILL
Dressed in the new “Soft Cube” silk print, the Slider – a sneaker with a wide elastic band in place of the traditional lacing – gains in sophistication. A fusion of sports shoe and evening shoe, it is the epitome of modern elegance.
SLIDER CUT
Pierre Hardy gives rhythm to the Slider with contrasting flat colors. Balanced by asymmetrical, random bias cuts in three contrasting leathers (sky, red and black or yellow, black and white), this sneaker, which has become a Pierre Hardy classic, gains a new graphic dynamic.

101 & 102 This season, the classic 101 and 102 sneakers are highlighted by contrasting topstitching. They are also available in a Colorama version combining different strong colors (blue/green/pink/yellow/red/white), or in a white version with mismatched color tongues.
CAMPUS 2
The Campus sneaker is also available with black stitching on white leather or white stitching on black leather.
TRECK COMET
This season, Treck Comet is available in neoprene and technical mesh, in new color harmonies such as sky blue, yellow and light gray.
FLASH COMET
Inspired by technical sports booties, Pierre Hardy designs mesh boots on white Comet rubber soles. Available in contrasting sporty harmonies (black/white/yellow, black/white/blue, navy/pink/green, etc.) or in a total black look, these modernist jodhpurs inaugurate a new type of shoe.
MUSTANG
Pierre Hardy designed a model that was as hybrid in its construction as it was in its stylistic references. He imagined a western-style moccasin, strapped with two metal rings, mounted on a Comet notched rubber sole with a technical sports look. This model defines a new silhouette, fusing folk and futuristic aesthetics.
