According to a survey of more than 15,000 users worldwide conducted by language learning app Babbel, the French accent once again comes out on top of the list of accents considered sexiest by foreigners. Molière’s accent is well ahead of Italian, Spanish and German.
During the vacation season, many people want to disconnect from their daily routine and discover new cultures. This summer period, often synonymous with travel abroad, is also an ideal time to meet new people. In fact, 1 in 2 French people admit to dreaming of having an adventure with a foreigner during their trip.
Lucky for them: French is internationally considered the sexiest accent in the world! In particular, it is considered so by 63% of Australians, just ahead of Italians (47%) and Americans (43%).
In France, it’s the Italian accent that captures the hearts of 40% of those surveyed, ahead of the English accent (23%) and the Spanish accent (18%).
