J.W.Anderson plays with the codes of fashion shows and conventions. It’s a staging of all the current talk about fashion being irrelevant. As a result, the designer is having fun and making meaningless statements. For the press, the show had no overriding theme – only disorder! Women in the shadows from Dior to Gauchère.
The beret seen at Wanda Nylon is back at Dior. It accompanies a rigid denim wardrobe. Military zeal. During battle, bags are worn on the back, like ammunition pouches. Women from the rear, forgotten women. At GAUCHÈRE, Marie-Christine Statz says she was inspired by “strong women” who “worked in aviation during the thirties and forties”.
