Origin: the Republic’s finest table

For a quick lunch or an evening feast with friends, the Origin restaurant is one of the best gourmet addresses in the area.
Whether indoors or out on the long terrace, it’s a real treat to discover the fresh, colorful, cross-fertilized market cuisine of Bénédicte Van Der Motte, a young chef from Bordeaux eager for simplicity and modernity. Having honed her skills with Yannick Alléno and Éric Frechon, this enthusiast of short circuits and seasonal produce offers an inventive, simple and tasty menu for the modest lunchtime price of €25.
In the evening, the atmosphere is cosy. You can relax on the terrace. For starters, the egg yolk confit with olive oil, fresh goat’s cheese, heirloom tomato marmalade and glazed yellow zucchini velouté is a pure delight. For the main course, Risotto de petit épeautre au cresson, champignons et légumes croquants will delight vegans. Roasted cod, tomato confit viennoise, vegetable bouillabaisse is perfect. For dessert, the cherry verbena soup, almond dacquoise and almond ice cream is a real winner!

The service is friendly and the value for money really good. We can only warmly recommend this fine address a stone’s throw from Place de la République.
