His recent death, which occurred in New York on January 10, 2016, has only increased his aura around the world. Cult artist, essential musician, inspired dandy, he continues to exert an enormous influence on entire generations. So it’s about time we gave this inventive genius, the precursor of many a fashion trend, the praise he deserves!
