A monument to Parisian fashion and social life, artist Marie Beltrami has already lived several lives, traced in an exhibition at Louis Vuitton in 2013. Her overflowing imagination has never failed her, whether it was at the side of Jean Paul Goude for 20 years, or when she created a jewelry collection, which she presented for the first time in her Parisian apartment.
The pink-haired designer, as usual, diverts everyday objects to make exceptional pieces. Thus, drills become precious earrings, while cables form delicate bracelets, and battery tips act as clasps.
This work of recovery is associated with beads, gilding and large geometric shapes. Balls and metal tubes give volume to the jewelry, to dress the arm in an ostentatious and chic way. The magnetic horsehair brooches are multi-functional, they decorate the outfit as well as a mirror in decoration.
Marie Beltrami plunges us into the heart of her universe. “Women are stars that will never be silent,” so she invites us to hang the milky way in our ears as a form of expression. And the mouse, totem animal of the artist, is found on rings and bracelets, already cult.
