Véronique Branquinho Fall/Winter 2016 fashion show

Véronique Branquinho and her incomparable universe overwhelmed fashion week on March 07. A Gothic aesthetic halfway between the Grimm brothers, the Victorian era and 16th-century Dutch Protestantism.

The overall atmosphere oscillates between the weird and the wonderful. Silhouettes work in pairs, as if reflected in a mirror. A fantastical world, in which modern red chaperones with sallow complexions take shelter under the large hoods of their mysterious capes. A timeless world too, where transparent or sequined sweaters are softened by imposing strawberry collars, rather than shirt collars.

The austere dresses, in dark, almost dusty tones, are far from sinister. They are cut from sensual plumetis, smooth velvet and glamorous sequins. The mix of genres is reflected in the choice of jackets. Lined parka, plaid blazers, furry leopard coats and even sportwears hooded jackets come together to celebrate a singular and effective conception of trends.
