The 2016 edition of the Taste of Paris festival, held at the Grand Palais from February 11 to 14, was a huge success: 27,000 visitors, 130,000 dishes served by renowned Chefs, 20 cooking classes, 96 exhibitors… and Etihad Airways, still present as the event’s official airline partner. So it’s only natural that Etihad Airways should today announce its worldwide partnership with all the Taste festivals taking place this year.
Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, will now be presenting its unrivalled culinary experiences to the general public, both on board and on the ground, thanks to the announcement of a long-term partnership with Taste Festivals Ltd, organizer of the world’s greatest gastronomic events since 2004.
The airline and several other members of Etihad Airways Partners, will be present at the 15 Taste festivals scheduled for 2016 from March 10, with Taste of Dubai, Taste of Hong Kong and Taste of Sydney.
Other festivals will take place on all five continents, in major Etihad Airways destinations such as Amsterdam, Johannesburg, London, Milan, Melbourne, Moscow, Paris, Perth, Rome and Toronto, and its hub city of Abu Dhabi.
Shane O’Hare, Senior Vice President Marketing, Etihad Airways, said: “Partnering with Taste Festivals is a natural evolution for a global airline whose mission is to deliver excellent service and hospitality to millions of customers. We deliver on this promise with a widely recognized culinary offering and a philosophy that constantly pushes the boundaries to provide a superior customer experience.
Taste provides us with a platform to highlight our gastronomic innovations, available in all our cabins and magnificent lounges. We draw inspiration from the best restaurants and emerging chefs in the world’s culinary capitals, and serve them with the style and refinement that have become synonymous with the Etihad Airways brand.”
Justin Clarke, Director of Taste Festivals, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Etihad Airways. Their commitment to being the world’s best culinary airline is both exceptional and proof that the combination of the Etihad Airways and Taste Festivals brands makes perfect sense. We look forward to working with Etihad to communicate their current service and inspire future innovation.”
As part of Etihad Airways’ global partnership with Taste, the airline has created the ‘Taste the World’ competition to celebrate emerging culinary talent from each of the 13 Taste festivals outside the United Arab Emirates. Winners will receive a trip to the Taste of Abu Dhabi, November 3-5, where they will showcase their skills and compete against the airline’s Chefs.
Etihad Airways was recently named Airline of the Year 2016 by Air Transport World, and has proudly received numerous awards for its excellent in-flight gastronomy.
Etihad Airways has elevated the in-flight experience in its First Class cabins. Chefs, many of whom come from top gourmet restaurants, bring their culinary expertise to offer à la carte meals, personalized for each customer. They also have a stock of fresh produce to respond to every order.
Business class maîtres d’hôtel supervise the service of a healthy, modern à la carte menu. They can advise on the perfect food and wine pairing, thanks to the wide range of references in their on-board cellar.
Etihad Airways currently has 235 Chefs on board and 495 Maîtres d’hôtel, offering the famous First and Business Class services for which the airline is recognized as the best in the world.
