The latest Autumn-Winter 2016-2017 men’s fashion show by Australian duo Strateas Carlucci (by Peter Strateas and Mario-Luca Carlucci) was held at the Australian Embassy in Paris’s 15th arrondissement. The Australian duo chose to title this year’s show “IMAGO”, imago being a scientific term for the last state of an insect in the process of transformation.
The collection is a combination of sportswear and luxury tailoring. The style of the collection is quite androgynous. The pieces are nevertheless sophisticated yet urban. Coats are straight and well-tailored, while pants are looser and tightened at the ankle. Elastic ribbons flocked with the brand’s name are present on virtually every piece.
The brand is associated with “The Woolmark Company”, a global benchmark for quality wool. The wool used here is Merino. 3D work was carried out to create a jacquard knit, a first for the brand. Black wool is graphically positioned on oversized sweaters with very long sleeves and turtlenecks, and there’s also some devoured wool work on the sweaters. Colors range from khaki green to black, gray, white, midnight blue, purple and red.
