From October 22 to 26, Art Élysées – Art & Design returns to the Avenue des Champs-Élysées, bringing together nearly 75 galleries in 3 ephemeral pavilions, presenting a broad panorama of modern art, contemporary art and 20th-century designer furniture. 2015 – YEAR OF LIGHT “ART ÉLYSÉES LIGHT PROJECT” EXHIBITION
This year, Art Élysées presents its “Art Élysées Light Project” exhibition, featuring two artists in parallel: Éric Michel and Pierre Marie Lejeune, who both deal with light in their work. Two reflections, two totally different approaches to illustrating light in art.
The visual artist uses light as a medium (“The materiality of light”), and the sculptor uses materials as a source of light in his work. In both cases, light plays a decisive role in the reading of their works.
ART ÉLYSÉES LIGHT PROJECT” TOUR
To complement the presentation of these two artists, each of the galleries taking part in the Art Élysées fair is invited to focus on the theme of light, as a punctuation mark, a red thread, throughout the visit to the gallery walls. Visitors will discover the multiple uses of light in art through the different artistic currents from the post-war period to the present day.
