Martin Grant has teamed up with milliner Tamasin Dale to offer a range of equestrian-inspired hats with a helmet-like silhouette. A meeting between the noble headgear of equestrians and the futuristic avant-garde of Daft Punk! Don’t worry, no metal or garish colors reminiscent of tuned motorcycle helmets: this hat, seen on the brand’s Fall-Winter 2015/2016 runway show, comes in printed velvet and refined black felt.
Resolutely chic, the long black silhouettes of the show make you want to become the heroine of a futuristic spy series, like Emma Peel (Chapeau melon et bottes de cuir), a champion who fears nothing, especially not daring accessories.
This equestrian trend is perfectly in tune with the Swinging London vibe of the fall season. A British sense of detail and accessorizing that was particularly noticeable on the latest runway show by Italian brand Emilio Pucci.
Always modern, the Australian designer places his model’s visor in a clever way. It conceals just enough of the gaze of a woman who walks with her head held high, leaving behind an unanswered mystery. Revised and corrected, a hat to remember, which brilliantly continues the current spirit of revisiting the wardrobe of avant-garde heroines. An accessory that’s a veritable gadget of seduction.
