Collaborations between artists and designers abound, as do arty influences, often with humor, and increasingly pronounced in women’s pieces. And for summer 2015, abstract art is making inroads with Sonia Delaunay-style rounded lines and curves at Dsquared2 in particular. ITW Dean & Dan Caten / Dsquared2 Designers turn their runway shows into arty experiences. It’s also a way of using colors and working with materials. But it’s also a way for designers to evoke their artistic backgrounds and influences. ITW Alasdhair Willis / Hunter Original Clothes are colorful. Paint effects are multiplying, and graphic art is causing a sensation. The story of lines, vertical, horizontal, overlapping or intersecting, keeps repeating itself. Black lines add depth, while brightly colored ones stand out. For the essential idea remains to provoke admiration while transforming the garment into a veritable work of art.
