The film “The Lobster” kicks off the official selection of the 68th Cannes Film Festival.
After the successful screening of the short films “Be true to your pleasure” in the presence of Willam, the internationally renowned Drag Queen, and the exclusive showcase of Asaf Avidan, the Magnum Cannes beach welcomed the film “The Lobster”.
Rachel Weisz, Léa Seydoux, Olivia Colman from the Broadchurch series, Colin Farell, Ben Wishaw and John C. Reilly reunite for one of the most eagerly awaited films of Cannes 2015. Greek filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos likes to surprise, disturb and even shock. Six years ago, he won the Un Certain Regard prize for his second feature Canine. And he could win a Palme d’Or with The Lobster, in which he proposes one of the most offbeat stories ever.
In the not-too-distant future, all bachelors are immediately arrested and taken to a mansion where they are given 45 days to find their better half. If his good fortune doesn’t smile, he’s turned into a pet.
