From May 5, Croatia welcomes “Rendez-vous”, France’s first festival on its territory. A multidisciplinary program of over 150 events in 22 Croatian cities introduces visitors to today’s France, its culture and art of living. The event runs from May 5, 2015 to October 2015, and echoes the Festival de la Croatie en France “Croatie la voici”, organized in 2012.

The official launch of the Festival took place on May 5, 2015, with the opening of the exhibition “Auguste Rodin in Meštrović’s Zagreb”. This major retrospective exhibition of Rodin’s work, is presented by the Rodin Museum and the Meštrović Museum in Zagreb and Split for the duration of the Festival. Another highlight, a week later, is Claude Debussy’s “Pelléas et Mélisande” in the Opéra Comique’s latest production, with three exceptional performances at Zagreb’s National Theatre.

A multi-disciplinary program of more than 150 events (from heritage to the most contemporary works, from exhibitions to the performing arts, including music, digital arts, design and fashion; debating ideas…) will offer all audiences throughout Croatia the chance to discover today’s France, its culture and its art of living.

“Rendez-vous, France’s festival in Croatia, will come to a close in early October with a European Forum on climate change, entitled “Together facing the challenge of climate change”, as part of the preparations for the “Paris Climat 2015” international conference in December, and ahead of the IPCC session to be held in Dubrovnik in October.

“Rendez-vous”, the festival of France in Croatia, is the first “season” of a European Union country organized in Croatia since its accession to the EU on July 1, 2013.
