“Color weaves-weaving pleats” ISSEY MIYAKE’s textile research is constantly evolving.
The new 3D steam stretch technique is based on a fabric composed of elastic fibers pre-pleated into valleys and mountains. Once steam is applied, the fabric instantly shrinks, creating a predefined 3D pattern.

This technology has evolved from curved pleats for the AUTUMN – WINTER 2014 collection to three-dimensional shapes for SPRING – SUMMER 2015. This season, 3D Steam Stretch is enriched once again by the use of different colors contrasted by black.
For Issey Miyake, color is a pure illusion of luminous shimmer, immersing us in a whirlwind of emotions.
