The room at Marc by Marc Jacobs is packed to the rafters. No one wants to miss this show, which always emanates incredible energy. Marc Jacobs, seated in the front row, looks intently at each model created by Katie Hillier and Luella Bartley. Dressed in studded berets, with wet hair and blackened eyes, the very young models wear a mix of streetwear, grunge and punk attitudes. In keeping with their previous collection, graphic messages permeate the flowing fabrics of the asymmetrical dresses. Vinyl adds a certain shine and a modern “Twiggy” edge. And don’t forget the studded bags, belts and shoes. Of particular note: voluminous mini-dresses with tulle petticoats.
