Mandarin Oriental’s Bar à 8tres

Since the opening of the Mandarin Oriental, Paris in June 2011, the heart of the Palace has been beating to the rhythm of Bar 8 events. After J’aime la MOde, Rock’n Marx and the Pink Bar, Bar 8 has been transformed into a “Bar à 8tres” since January 6, 2015. For two months, from Tuesday to Saturday from 6pm to 10:30pm, it will offer a magnificent shoal of oysters produced in Carantec in Brittany: the “Fine Cadoret” and “Perle Noire” varieties. Once again, Champagne will add its festive, elegant touch. Laurent-Perrier will be offering its Ultra Brut cuvée in perfect harmony with the oysters. To kick off the festivities, the “Bar à 8tres” was orchestrated during the 1st week of its launch by Marcel Lesoille, shucker and five-time world champion oyster opener, who came to share his passion and astonishing talent.

We had the pleasure of testing these succulent oysters with a magnificent Laurent Perrier Ultra brut Champagne.
