Missoni, Men’s show, Fall/Winter 2015/16, Milan

This season, we’re boarding the Trans-Siberian Railway, bound for Manchuria. But Angela Missoni goes even further, drawing inspiration from artists in search of adventure. On the softly carpeted catwalk, a man of nonchalant elegance wraps himself in softly cut, oversized pieces, wrapped in cashmere or wool, in autumnal, mineral colors. Textures are treated in gradations, and ikats, checks, tartans and herringbones are the season’s highlights. The woollen suits have real support thanks to a new knitting technique, and lend a real softness to this classic men’s wardrobe piece while renewing the genre. Note the long coat that ties like a bathrobe, and the tunic that protrudes from the suit.
