This year, the SIHH celebrates its 25th anniversary. From January 19 to 23, the Geneva-based show will be exhibiting unique Haute Horlogerie timepieces from luxury brands such as Mont Blanc, Piaget, Ralph Lauren, Roger Dubuis and Cartier.

SIHH-25e-editionTo mark the occasion, Collector Square, a platform offering a second life to luxury items through its website, analyzes for us the ranking of the most auctioned exhibiting brands on its unique database: LuxPrice-index©.
This analysis reveals that Cartier is in first place, with 7,500 watches sold, compared with 6,220 from Jaeger-LeCoultre and 5,476 from Vacheron Constantin, placed second and third respectively.

And that’s not all: Cartier holds the watch sales record with an automaton clock set with precious stones.
Some collections were more successful than others, enabling the Tank and Pasha lines to account for almost half of all Cartier watches sold at auction.

Cartier’s innovative spirit has only increased its success over the years, as has its price. Collector Square notes that the average price of a pre-owned Cartier watch doubled in 10 years between 2003 and 2013.

This data confirms the House’s steady rise as a major competitor in the luxury goods market.
