First of all, no year goes by without celebrating a few anniversaries: the candles were blown out at Lanvin for its 125th birthday, and in the form of a party at Diane Von Furstenberg, who celebrated the 40th anniversary of her ever-popular wrap dress…(itw) The desires were also keenly felt on the side of the increasingly numerous collaborations. We loved Clémence Poesy’s romanticism for Gérard Darel, Anthony Vaccarello’s Italian sensuality for the Versus capsule collection, Alexander Wang’s sophisticated sportswear for H&M (itw), and Miley Cyrus’s very ethnico – girly jewelry created alongside Jeremy Scott. The buzz came from the American designer this year, when he took over the artistic direction of Moschino. (itw) Last but not least, the buzz for 2015 is John Galliano’s arrival at Maison Martin Margiela, with his first haute couture show next January. The presentations by Olivier Saillard, Director of the Musée Galliera in Paris and a fashion historian, are always worth a visit. Our favorite was “Models never talk”, with seven former models recounting their experiences in fashion in a sincere, moving and funny voice. If the stars are still flocking to Paris to discover the city, they won’t want to miss the new Louis Vuitton Foundation, a sublime building designed by Frank Gehry that has just been inaugurated…
