At Chanel: a life-size Parisian building facade sets the tone with groups of girls treading the pavement in flat shoes and colorful, printed outfits…At the Grand Palais, Chanel brings its collection to the street. A life-size recreation of a Parisian building facade set the tone, with groups of girls treading the pavement in flat shoes and colorful, printed outfits. Karl offers a multitude of suits and dresses, cut in a watercolor pattern drawn by the designer, then pastel monochrome colors take over, giving way to black and white, with a whole declension around the white shirt with ruffles and lace. Gisèle Bündchen in a striped woollen dress announces the theme with banker suits. Graphic motifs inspired by cobblestones cover certain transparencies. Embroidery adorns many small jackets. This season, no dresses for red carpets, but fashion firmly rooted in everyday reality. Karl Lagerfeld loves to show his difference, and once again he surprises, amuses and sets the tone for Chanel fashion that’s always one step ahead.
