The exhibition Paul Durand-Ruel:“Le Pari de l’Impressionisme” opens on October 9. For this occasion, Marie Mercié and Anthony Peto have been approached by the Réunion des Musées to create a collection of period hats brought up to date.
For these two hats, Marie Mercié was inspired by the two models featured on the poster for the Paul Durand-Ruel exhibition. However, it is with contemporary materials that the hat designer has created these two unique objects.
The“Louis Philippe Voilette” hat in red straw surrounded by a veil is, of course, intended for women. Gentlemen are not forgotten, however, as the“Chapeau Monsieur” in light straw has been designed especially for them.
Anthony Peto’s two creations are for men. A rabbit-hair felt and a wool Fitted Cap – what better way to brave autumn and winter, gentlemen?
You can find these limited editions at the Musée du Luxembourg bookshop.
They will be available from October 9 to February 8, 2015.
