Ballantine’s opens its ephemeral bar in Paris from SEPTEMBER 4 to October 16, 2014
The famous Ballantine’s whisky brand is enabling entrepreneur Abderrahim El Asfar, Barman Mixologist, to bring his project to fruition with the opening of an ephemeral bar on the 1st floor of the Chacha Club – 47 rue Berger – Paris 1er.
A Ballantine’s cocktail bar with an Epicerie feel
Winner of The Bar Project by Ballantine’s competition, the Epicerie concept imagined by Abderrahim El Asfar will see the light of day in the form of an ephemeral bar from September 4, 2014. The competition invited anyone with an entrepreneurial and creative spirit to imagine and propose their ideal bar concept.
For the very first time, a cocktail bar has been imagined as an Epicerie. Customers choose their ingredients (fruit, vegetables, spices, aromatic herbs, etc.) from a variety of displays, then entrust them to the barman mixologist, who will blend them with Ballantine’s 12-year-old whisky. Consumers will then be able to enjoy their made-to-measure cocktail around a large table d’hôte.
This concept by entrepreneur Abderrahim El Asfar is directly inspired by the story of the brand’s founder, George Ballantine, a 19-year-old entrepreneur who created his first whisky in a grocery store before exporting it around the world.
During the 6-week opening period, a new weekly theme will set the pace at Epicerie Ballantine’s. An opportunity to awaken your creativity!
Le Doré- week of September 8: Can you concoct a cocktail based on gold, the signature color of Ballantine’s 12-year-old dress?
Le Miel – week of September 15: a note that reveals itself in the nose and palate of Ballantine’s 12 ans. What ingredients would you dare to pair honey with?
L’Equilibre – week of September 22: Can you concoct a perfectly balanced cocktail, like Ballantine’s 12 ans, an exceptionally well-balanced blend?
Ballantine’s 12 years old Collins revisited – week of September 29: – Can you reinterpret the famous Ballantine’s 12 years old Collins cocktail?
Notes Florales – week of October 6: Did you know that floral notes are revealed on the palate when tasting Ballantine’s 12 Year Old? Would you dare ask the bartender to concoct a cocktail with fresh flowers?
Ballantine’s 12-year-old Collins revisited – week of October 13: Can you reinterpret the famous Ballantine’s 12-year-old Collins cocktail?
Imagine which ingredients would be most suitable and entrust them to our mixologist bartender, who will concoct your cocktail for you. Maybe you’ll find your cocktail in the suggestions of the day!
