More than a designer, Serkan Cura excels as a feather worker, as demonstrated by his latest haute couture collection. For his second show as a guest member of the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture, young Belgian designer Serkan Cura takes flight by highlighting two of his passions: corsetry (as a reminder of his years at Jean-Paul Gaultier) and, above all, feathers, which he studies and fashions in his own workshop and with his own hands. It took him three years of breeding golden pheasants to obtain the dress he wanted. Haute couture transformed into sheaths, trains, bustiers and even pantsuits… So many celebrations for a designer determined to preserve craftsmanship and the feather-maker’s trade. It seems to be working, as in the two years since the birth of his brand, Victoria’s Secrets has even asked him to take part in a few pieces for its famous annual fashion show…
