Of the Antwerp Six, the one we remember today is Walter Van Beirendonck, the famous Belgian designer with a totally offbeat vision of clothing, featuring head accessories and color, lots of color.
As with every time you go to a WVB fashion show, you never really know what to expect, other than originality and a vivid imagination. For PE 2015, WVB opted for several styles, always with the same passion for bright colors.
The Japanese-inspired silhouette, for once, is unlike anything we’ve seen from the designer before, with an oversized floral-print kimono that almost makes this charming young man look like a ninja.
With timid hints of flowers, the outfit has a deceptively Hispanic, blood-red toreador look – could there be an underlying message?
On this first day of Spring-Summer 2015 fashion week for men’s fashion, Belgian design takes us to corners of fashion that few dare to flaunt, and yet all these beautiful prints would put a smile on our faces on the street. Gentlemen, in 2015, get rid of the floral motif!
