Pleats Please Issey Miyake collaborates with Japanese graphic designer Kazumasa Nagai for the Autumn Winter 2014-2015 season.
It was after visiting an exhibition devoted to Nagai’s work in 2013 that Issey Miyake imagined this collaboration. There has always been a special link between the art world and the work of Issey Miyake, with constant work with designers. For this LIFE series, named after the posters that inspired it, Issey Miyake wanted to treat these works in a playful way. The pleats give life to the animals once the garment is worn, thanks to the body’s movements.
Lightness and freedom, two sentiments that are the very essence of the line. These pieces have been previewed at the Issey Miyake boutique on Rue Royale in Paris since May 5. They will then be available at the Pleats Please Issey Miyake boutique on Boulevard Saint-Germain in Paris from June 5.
