2014 marks the fortieth anniversary of the creation of Sanrio’s iconic character Hello Kitty.
To mark the occasion, the world’s most famous kitten is taking a trip to thank the friends and fans around the world who have contributed to her success in recent years, on the theme “ARIGATO” (“Thank you” in Japanese). Her resolution is “to learn pastry-making in the hope that it will enable her to make the people around her happy, the way her mom’s apple pie fills her with joy”.
Hello Kitty was keen to visit Pierre Hermé to learn about pastry-making. Honored by this request, the pastry chef invited her to spend a few days in his Parisian creative workshop, the “Maison Pierre Hermé”. Pierre Hermé introduced her to his world of tastes, sensations and pleasures, teaching her the classics as well as his original creations, the secrets of macaroons…
On her return to Japan, Hello Kitty will share this experience of pastry-making with Pierre Hermé, notably through a recipe book, very Kawai ….
