Last night saw the eagerly-awaited American Music Awards ceremony, at which the biggest stars in the music world were expected to perform. Ceremony means red carpet, and the photographers were treated to a veritable parade yesterday.
We saw Jennifer Hudson in a luminous orange asymmetrical dress lined with pink by Christian Dior. Heidi Klum looked gorgeous in a black Marchesa dress with lace and fringed cut-outs. The singer Ke$ha in a long black dress, cut out and adorned with a big thigh-high bow, her hair blue and pink. For her part, Rihanna wore a sublime black maxi dress, all sheer by Jean Paul Gaultier Couture. Zoe Saldana was dressed as Roland Mouret. Taylor Swift was all gold in a short, sparkling dress. Nicolas Richie looked sculptural in a white dress by Emilio Pucci, and in the same style, singer Christina Aguilera was visibly slimmer. Lady Gaga, more natural than usual, wore a pastel Versace dress.
And the two stars we expected to be the most daring, surprised us with their simplicity. Katy Perry wore a strapless black ball gown with white weights and flowers by designer Oscar de la Renta. As for Miley Cyrus, who regularly creates controversy with her daring outfits, she took to the red carpet in an immaculate Versace tuxedo.
