For its Women’s Ready-to-Wear Spring/Summer 2014 presentation, the Japanese brand welcomed us to the Palais de Tokyo to show us a collection with a strong character.
UNDERCOVER 2014 SPRING SUMMER from PREMICES FILMS on Vimeo.
Rhythmic, intense music, with a background of female vocals, as the dark allures unfold.
Evocative names, “avant-garde” sportswear, eyes hidden by long, straight bangs, conceptual cases with flashing words – designer Jun Takahashi leaves us speechless!
In today’s economic climate, Undercover is inspired by the anarchic woman, in the colors of combat, essentially composed of black and red, but also with a few touches of white and midnight blue. The addition of relevant embroidery confirms the show’s subtext, “CHAOS”.
Like an anonymous woman with blood-red lips, at war with today’s society, the Japanese house dresses her in tight gloves to hide her fingerprints, and wide belts and chains to go into battle.
At Undercover, women proudly assert their “free electron” side, with asymmetrical pieces featuring transparency and neoprene, blending two of the four elements: Air and Earth.
With the addition of asymmetrical oversize on one side, or a juxtaposition of curved materials on the other, this same woman breaks codes to let her strength and sensuality explode.
