Stephane Rolland is a fashion poet. For this Winter 2014 season, he drew his inspiration from the darkness of ink, calligraphy, and the dark passion of Velasquez paintings.
Adorned in midnight blue or black, the Stephane Rolland woman is noble, refined, imposing and strong. The cuts are minimal and graphic, with pleated collars and bibs to the fore.
Black satin modules sprout from the torso, crystals sprout here and there on flowing dresses, flames appear, vinyl is born.
The pace quickens and our tango dancer becomes frantic, tube pants give way to ball gowns, the woman becomes venomous, the accessories more and more present.
This winter’s Stephane Rolland woman combines rigor and sensuality, violence and femininity as a tango can be.
