For Francesco Smalto, 2014 will see the presentation of a “Grande Mesure” collection. A Grande Mesure and luxury Prêt-à-Porter house since 1962, Smalto’s Paris workshops employ a team of some thirty craftsmen and master tailors.

Francesco Smalto has decided to focus all its activities on its expertise as a tailor, and is currently creating and producing in its Paris workshops this collection of unique Grande Mesure pieces (the counterpart to Haute Couture for men), which will be presented in Paris in 2014. It will also be unveiled at roadshows in the United States, Russia and the Middle East, where the public can discover the uniqueness and excellence of Francesco Smalto’s workshops, in the presence of the House’s Master Tailors. La Grande Mesure offers customers the opportunity to create a piece of clothing (suit, coat, shirt, etc.) entirely by hand, with a unique pattern tailored to the customer’s exact measurements.

As a result, the House will be absent from the calendar for Prêt-à-Porter Homme week in January 2014.

An orientation in the form of a manifesto: La Grande Mesure – a rare and historic savoir-faire, the pillar of all the creations and actions carried out by the House: Ready-to-Wear and accessories, communications, events, partnerships and commercial activities.

Today, the collections are distributed in 160 points of sale worldwide and via the brand’s website. Since 2013, Francesco Smalto has been the official dresser of the French soccer team.
