It was 10.16pm on Thursday October 27, when fashion and trends expert Alexandra Golovanoff announced the results of the 28th French final of the Elite Model Look contest. Joséphine Le Tutour, 16 years old, 1m79 tall, saw her dream come true after an exceptional human adventure. This victory opens the door to the prestigious international final of the Elite Model Look competition, to be held in Shanghai on December 6.

An exceptional show worthy of the occasion

The French final of the Elite Model Look competition was held at the Halle Freyssinet, an emblematic venue favored by the world’s leading fashion designers. The 12 finalists took to the catwalk in front of over 700 guests, including fashion and beauty professionals, journalists and representatives of major brands.

The fashion show was orchestrated by Bjorn Tagemose, the iconoclastic, all-round artist and Artistic Director of the French finale, who created a rhythmic “rock & chic” setting. The event was further enhanced by the presence of singer Imany, who came to perform tracks from her debut album “Shape of a Broken Heart”, enchanting guests with her exceptional, soulful and sensual voice.

An extraordinary human experience

The French finalists had to invest time and energy to reveal their full potential in the 2011 edition of Elite Model Look France. Long months of selection throughout France were necessary to choose the 12 finalists. The girls then underwent intensive preparation, including sports coaching, fittings, makeovers, rehearsals, photo & video shoots, to be ready to parade in front of a prestigious jury.

Supervised by fashion and beauty professionals, photographers, choreographers, hairdressers, make-up artists and stylists, they experienced unforgettable moments, during which competition often gave way to wonder and complicity between the candidates.

Savouring victory before continuing the adventure

The jury, made up of Alexandre Vauthier, designer, Erza Petronio, editor-in-chief and artistic director of Self Service Magazine, Philippe Elbouki, Casting Director & Co-founder of the Anne Valérie Hash brand, Michaela Goddard-Quesada, President of Elite Model Look, Vick Mihaci, President of Elite Management World, was finally convinced by the charisma, personality and, of course, photogenic and natural beauty of Joséphine, a young girl from Camors in the Morbihan region. At 79 m tall, with blue eyes, she can look forward to a career worthy of previous winners of the competition: Cindy Crawford, Stéphanie Seymour, Gisèle Bundchen, Constance Jablonski and Sigrid Agren.

In the meantime, Joséphine will be using the next few weeks to assert her style, in order to represent France with dignity at the international final of the Elite Model Look contest, to be held in Shanghai on December 6.

And it’s going to be a tough challenge, since she’ll have to hold her own against 69 other candidates, also winners in their own countries, by winning over a particularly demanding jury of professionals. The prize: a three-year contract with the Elite agency and the chance to live an unforgettable experience.
