June 8, 2013 sees the start of the second edition of the Encantado Festival in Rio de Janeiro, the ideal opportunity to discover the city and its surroundings in a festive atmosphere.
Perched high above the city at Alto da Boa Vista, the festival is located in the heart of the Tijuca, the largest urban forest on the planet. A rare opportunity to enjoy an incredible panorama of Rio, as well as to discover the richness of Brazilian culture. Indeed, born of the collaboration of Favela Chic Paris/London with Fla-Flu prod and Pineapple in association with Be-Linked, the Encantado festival is the bold result of a creative cell that wishes to bring together communities of people from diverse backgrounds to reflect the social diversity that reigns in Brazil. 
The festival’s other key issue is respect for the environment. This is a considerable challenge in a booming country with the densest forests in the world. The organizers have therefore decided to raise awareness of sustainable development among the many spectators they are preparing to welcome, through waste sorting, virtual communications and the use of recyclable materials. It’s in an atmosphere of sharing and respect that the second edition of this festival kicks off, with a delightful line-up including C.SEN DAX, NYC Bronx, the Beastie Boys, ESG, TLC, Big Daddy Cane and Tricky, not forgetting THE BOO, Gringo Stop and Ministre X and many more.
Sponsored this year by singer-songwriter Criolo, who has been very famous in rap circles since the release of his album “No na Orelha”, Encantado is not only an enchanting musical event thanks to its artists and idyllic setting, but also an opportunity to improve the social and economic life of the region. The festival has created 80 jobs, indirectly improving housing conditions, access to education and simply modernizing the city with the money raised from the sale of various services. A great opportunity to discover Rio in an eco-touristic and festive way!
