Enthusiastic is the partnership between vintage bike boutique En selle Marcel and the organizers of Anjou Vélo Vintage, an event linked to vintage bikes, fashion and gastronomy.
En selle Marcel, renowned for its range of Haute-Couture bikes, from superb Abici bikes and Brompton folding bikes to “made-to-measure” bikes, has chosen a quality ally.
Created by the Conseil Général de Maine-et-Loire, Anjou Vélo Vintage is a fun ride. The principle is simple: get on a retro bicycle (from the early 20th century to 1987) and enjoy the ride. Elegance is the order of the day. Each participant must be stylistically in keeping with his or her steel steed. A concours d’élégance will be held on Saturday afternoon.
The weekend of June 23&24, 2012 promises to be an exciting one. The festivities kick off on Saturday, with the public and participants welcomed to a 6,000 m2 retro village in the center of Saumur from 11am. Brocanteurs, musicians and other exhibitors will take you back in time.
In the evening, the Gratien & Meyer winery, renowned for its Saumur vineyards, will host a reception featuring wine tasting and lindy hop swing.
On Sunday, the start of the Anjou Vélo Vintage will be at 10 am. Various routes are available, each offering a glimpse of Anjou’s rich heritage. Along the way, competitors can enjoy gastronomic tastings
Registration takes just a moment. Go to www.anjou-velo-vintage.com. There, for the modest sum of 12 euros, you can take part and receive a bag containing a route book and various samples.
