FALL / WINTER 2020-21 COLLECTION

Zadig&Voltaire unveiled its Fall/Winter 2020 menswear collection at an event that was a fusion of a presentation and a fashion show. The atmosphere was charged with the electrifying energy of Berlin’s famous nightclubs and as models mingled with guests, it became almost impossible to tell them apart. This unprecedented event placed the Zadig&Voltaire man back at the heart of here-and-now realness.

Decidedly contemporary, his versatility and offbeat elegance set him apart. Despite his urban soul, he likes to escape and explore new horizons. “Zadig&Voltaire isn’t a question of fashion or age, it’s essentially a question of attitude!”. With these words, the Maison’s Artistic Director Cecilia Bönström restated the fundamentals of her menswear line. For the new decade, she is committed more than ever to this moment in time, questioning masculinity, its rules and its values.

Embodied by British poet Sonny Hall, with his dandyish charm and rock tattoos, the line shows that energy is what makes the difference. His motto? Dare with a balance. So, it’s with an air of nonchalance that the Zadig man dares to combine a fitted shirt with an oversized down jacket, or pair nylon track pants with a cashmere crew neck sweater. A disciple of that offbeat elegance, he transitions from day to night by casually throwing a fitted suit jacket over a knit. Straddling the boundaries between rock, sport and chic, this collection is a collision of genres. The Maison introduces its new Z&V logo, as in the womenswear. Staying faithful to its iconic totem, it reinvents its skull and camouflage on a botanical print prickling with thistles and in a hieroglyph-inspired evil eye symbol. A voyage of discovery befitting of the Z&V man’s wanderlust.

As the season progresses, the collection navigates us through French elegance, a Latin American ethnic mood, the mysteries of Asia and the inspirations of the Middle East. At each destination, it takes on new, ever more creative pieces, gradually building a wardrobe that is perfect for the 2020 man.
