On the occasion of the FIA WEC World Endurance Championship conference, Graton Editeur, Motul and REBELLION Racing got together to take the second step in their ambitious project around the comic book character, Michel Vaillant.
Together, they decided to navigate between fiction and reality by bringing Michel Vaillant back to life at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. In fiction, via the new opus, Rébellion, due for release on June 2, 2017; and in reality, by having not one but two VAILLANTE REBELLION start at the legendary Le Mans event.

The Vaillante Rebllion Powered by Motul team, in the presence of Nicolas Prost, revealed the design of the VAILLANTE REBELLLION at lunchtime today at the Club des V in Brussels, as well as an exceptional live feature that will be offered to fans during the competition.

The Vaillante Rebellion team will take to the starting line at Le Mans circuit aboard two VAILLANTE REELLION, Oreca 07 Gibson LMP2s, powered by a
Gibson V8 engine lubricated with Motul 300V 5W30 Power Racing, designed for the occasion in the colors of the legendary Vaillante stable.
The 1st Vaillante Rebellion will proudly bear the number 13, the team’s fetish number and also that of Michel Vaillant’s car in his albums. The second Vaillante Rebellion will carry the number 31!
Mathias Beche, Nelson Piquet Jr, David Heinemeier Hansson, in number 13; Nicolas Prost, Bruno Senna and Julien Canal, in number 31, will take us on a journey of a lifetime!
MOTUL AND GRATON EDITEUR LAUNCH A LIVE PERFORMANCE
An exceptional project calls for exceptional facilities! Motul will be setting up a unique, never-before-seen space in the 24 Hours of Le Mans village, somewhere between fiction and reality, to propel fans into the heart of the event and the race, and take them behind the scenes of the Vaillant universe.
The illustrators from Graton Editeur will be taking part in a unique performance during the 24 Hours of Le Mans! Taking it in turns to sketch the highlights of the competition and the adventures of the Vaillante Rebellion Powered by Motul team, they’ll be doing it live and non-stop. The illustrators of the famous Michel Vaillant series will be performing their sketches in front of fans, live on Motul’s social networks: Facebook and Twitter.
