EXPLORA JOURNEYS JOINS FORCES WITH CELEBRITY CHEF MAURO ULIASSI, WHO WILL BE THE FIRST GUEST CHEF AT THE ANTHOLOGY RESTAURANT ON BOARD EXPLORA I
Explora Journeys, the luxury brand of the MSC Group, is proud to announce its partnership with world-renowned Italian chef Mauro Uliassi to offer a unique culinary experience to guests aboard EXPLORA I. Guests will be able to discover the menu for the inaugural voyage, from July 17 until arrival in New York on September 25, 2023. The first chef to be invited to Anthology, one of the 11 culinary experiences offered on board, Chef Uliassi and his team will offer a delicious blend of tradition and modernity at the heart of Italian cuisine.
Chef Mauro Uliassi is renowned for his innovative and inventive approach to Italian cuisine, and his gastronomic creations are celebrated the world over, as evidenced by his three Michelin stars. The art with which he combines tradition and modernity creates a unique gastronomic experience that delights all the senses.
Mauro Uliassi’s cuisine reflects his passion for the ocean and his deep respect for the environment. By showcasing the unique flavors and textures of the ocean, he perfectly represents the ethos of Explora Journeys, which favors sustainable and local gastronomic experiences, while creating an “oceanic state of mind” centered on gastronomy.

EXPLORA I’s Anthology restaurant is defined as a veritable gastronomic stage where guest chefs compose menus with the complicity of Franck Garanger, Head of Culinary at Explora Journeys. They present cuisines from around the world, accompanied by food and wine pairings created by illustrious winemakers, for a unique culinary experience. In a sophisticated, hushed setting where al fresco dining is possible, subdued lighting and impeccable service create an atmosphere both intimate and refined.

Guests aboard EXPLORA I will discover a skilfully crafted menu celebrating Chef Uliassi’s finest creations, composed of only the freshest and finest ingredients and largely sourced from local producers.

The dinner offered at Anthology is a unique experience of discovery, and is not included in the gastronomic offers included in the package. Tasting menu: €190 per person. Wine pairing: €75 per person.
The naming ceremony for EXPLORA I will take place on July 8 in Civitavecchia, near Rome, and will be followed by the ship’s maiden voyage, departing on July 17 from Southampton, UK, for a 15-night voyage through the Norwegian fjords and the Arctic Circle to Copenhagen, Denmark.
