Drinks International has announced its highly anticipated 50 Best Bars in the World 2015. The bar awards are chosen by an academy of over 400 members; the strongest and most diverse collection of industry experts ever assembled to express their views on the world’s best bars.

The list represents the ultimate guide to the best bars and drinking destinations around the globe, and restaurant, speakeasy, hotel, and tiki-themed bars all contribute to the varied and eclectic list. This year’s ranking includes bars from 27 cities in 19 countries, with 14 new entries.

Overall, Europe continues to be the international epicenter for good drinking, leading the ranking of regions with 23 of its bars included in the list. Once again, London boasted more bars in the top 50 than any other city, with nine bars making the list. Nightjar, Happiness Forgets, The American Bar at The Savoy, and The Connaught Bar join Artesien in the top ten, while four others appear in the top half of the ranking.

In Europe, Candelaria in Paris jumped five places to become the highest ranked European bar outside London and the best bar in France at number 12. Little Red Door returns to the list bringing France’s total to two bars.

Germany boasts three bars in the list, including Buck and Breck in Berlin, Schumann’s in Munich, and The Lion Bar in Paris in Hamburg, which joins the only inclusion of Spain, Dry Martini by Javier de las Muelas in Barcelona, to claim the joint honor of being featured every year since the awards began.

Rome regains the position of first destination of Italy for cocktails, as The Jerry Thomas Project jumps seven places to overtake Nottingham Forest of Milan. The two Amsterdam bars also traded places: Tales & Spirits is fourteen points ahead of Gate 74.

Athens is represented for only the second time as its new entry The Clumsies crushes at number 22, followed by the only entries of Delicatessen from Moscow, Ruby from Copenhagen, and the new entry of Nicosia Lost & Found.

London manages to keep the Number One spot with Artesian winning the title of Best Bar in the World for the fourth year in a row. Located within the Langham Hotel, Artesian is run by Alex Kratena and Simone Caporale, who recently launched the exceptional new ‘Surrealism’ menu for 2015.

The menu includes creations such as the “Spring Into Summer”. Poured into a melted dish, the drink is inspired by the concept of “landscape” in surrealism, which reveals itself to the drinker. The herbaceous concoction contains a complex flavor combination of Ketel One Vodka, Shochu, Artichoke, Coffee, Yuzu, Passion and Coriander.

At Christ Church Spitalfields representatives of the world’s best bars made their way to the capital to attend the award ceremony, along with international industry leaders and celebrities. The 50Best Bars In The World is the most influential and reputable global ranking in its category. The ranking is the result of an international industry survey conducted by Drinks International, the leading magazine for the global beverage and alcohol industry.
