The very first French retrospective of Chinese painter Zeng Fanzhi will be held from October 18, 2013 to February 16, 2014 at the Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris.

Zeng Fanzhi is a Chinese painter who has been sensitive to creation and the arts from an early age. He studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in his hometown, where he discovered contemporary Chinese and Western art. Nourished by these influences and keen to evolve In a more vibrant context, he moved to Beijing, where the city’s effervescence no longer needs proving, to work. Since the 90s, Zeng Fanzhi has been developing his own original language. His Asian origins are combined with numerous Western influences. He uses multiple styles and themes, always in a spirit of research and controlled technique.

Having exhibited all over the world, notably at the Rockbund Art Museum in Shanghai, the Francisco Godia Foundation in Barcelona and the Sofia National Art Gallery, Zeng Fanzhi will now hang his paintings at the Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris. This retrospective is an opportunity to discover the artist’s entire career through some forty paintings and sculptures created between the 90s and today.
